Message from Merle Chambers
It is with mixed emotions that I, and the Chambers Fund Board of Directors, share the news that Letty Bass has decided to leave her position at Chambers Fund at the end of June. Letty has served as executive director of the foundation from its founding in 1997.
Her insights, leadership and passion for the priorities of the foundation have contributed to Chambers Fund becoming an innovative funder and partner. We will miss her very much and, of course, wish her the very best in her new consulting endeavor. In the coming months, we will begin an internally initiated search process.
We are grateful to Letty, not only for her contributions to Chambers Fund, but also to our community. It has been a wonderful journey together.
Message from Letty Bass
My professional and personal joy for the past 22 years has been working with Merle Chambers. I cherish our relationship and partnership, and I celebrate the meaningful years that I have spent with Merle at Chambers Fund. It has also been my good fortune to work and partner with passionate philanthropic and nonprofit colleagues who care deeply about the issues they support and the communities they serve.
I respect and admire all Chambers Fund has accomplished and its ongoing commitment to systems change that fosters true opportunity for all. I will work to ensure a smooth transition for my successor. After that, I plan to continue serving philanthropic and nonprofit advancement in a consulting capacity.
On a personal note, I also plan to spend time with my Mother who is in good health and will celebrate her 100th birthday in June.
With gratitude and appreciation for our journey,
